Casting call for short film “Iceland”

This is a casting notice for a short film: ICELAND
The short is being directed by Kristjan Thor and Tarik Karam
Auditions will be held on 7/16/09 and 7/17/09 at the Sandford Meisner Theater at 164 11th Avenue, NY, NY 10011.

Audition will be by appointment only. Please send a headshot and resume to icelandthemovie@gmail.com, sides will be emailed to the actors upon scheduling an appointment.

The shoot is presently scheduled for the second week in August. Actors should be available for rehearsals in the first week of august. All dates are subject to change.

Below are the character descriptions. Thank you for your time.

Kristjan Thor


THOM: a 14-year-old boy (age 14 to 16) who was blinded several years ago. He is prone to fits of rage and can be exceedingly difficult for those he resents. He is, however, incredibly loyal to those he loves.

HALLDOR/LARUS: Actor (age 25 to 35) needs to play identical twins. The brothers are poor Icelandic farmers who have worked together their entire lives.
Halldor is the dominant of the two. He is aggressive, coarse, and pays little attention to what people think of him.
Larus is the meeker of the two, often following his brother’s lead. He has difficulty interacting with people and rarely does so.

GRACE: Age 20 to 30. Grace is the au pair in charge of taking care of a troubled 14-year-old blind boy. She is strong willed and resourceful. She has lived a difficult life and struggles to keep her dark past at bay.
