Casting Call for NYU Student Film “Why Aren’t You Dancing?” – New York, NY
Casting Call Details:
“Why Aren’t You Dancing?” is an NYU short film that will go into production the weekend of November 10th. SAG, AFTRA, and non-union actors are all welcomed.
The film focuses on Lilly, a gentle and introverted woman, during the course of one night at her friend Terra’s house party. Lilly is there in an attempt to put a bad breakup behind her, but being surrounded by acquaintances and well-meaning friends does not give her the relief that she seeks. Finally, solace comes in the form of Jonas – Terra’s younger brother.
We are presently looking for actors for the supporting role of Jonas (20-25). Jonas is a quiet observer – of Terra and Lilly’s relationship, specifically, and of the world, in general. Jonas is very mature for his age, and that maturity manifests itself in great psychological astuteness.
An introvert himself, Jonas has a window into Lilly’s psyche. Despite not being at the house for the sake of the party, Jonas winds up being a source of great comfort for Lilly at her time of need.
