Free Casting Calls and Auditions

NEVERTOOLATE Films announces an open call for actors for HD low budget
non-union short “Requiem for a Lightweight” intended for film festival
exhibition and HD cable sale. Written and directed by Tom Chamberlain.
No pay. “Requiem…” is a comedy spoofing Hollywood boxing films. Please
read the character descriptions and apply for a specific part only if
you meet all requirements. Send a headshot or recent photo (no more than
100K in size) and a resume (please state your age or birth date) to
NEVERTOOLATE Films at gabarber@gmail.com. Must be available for
auditions in Austin, Texas from 5 pm to 11 pm on Monday, September 22nd
or 10 am to 8 pm on Saturday, September 27th. Local actors only. NO
BUDGET for travel or accommodations. We will contact you for appointment
times. Shoot dates are Oct. 24 to Oct. 26 and are all-night shoots from
approximately 7 pm to 6 am. Additional shooting may be required
Saturday, November 1st from 7 am to 7 pm.

CHARACTER DESCRIPTIONS – Please do not send your resume’ or headshot if
you cannot fit one of these roles. EXTRAS have already been cast.

Jake Lambada - (18-25) Italo-Irish, gangly, wiry, but not built or
physically impressive. Sensitive. A lover, not a fighter.

Angie Lambada - (40-50) Italo-Irish. Jake’s Mom. Tough. Traditional.
Working Class. Demanding. Expects everyone in her family to be as strong
as she is or stronger. Wants son to be like her idealized deceased prize
fighter husband, Louie Lambada, even though she knows he’ll never be.

Grandma Lambada - (65-up) Italo-Irish. Louie’s mom and Jake’s grandma.
Kindly. Warm. Soft She kept her compassion even though she lived through
hard times and has struggled. Jake is her pet. She tries to protect him
from the harshest parts of his mother, but couldn’t stand toe to toe
with Angie. Tries to work around the edges.

Lucky - (40-50) Boxing trainer, ex boxer. Working class tough, but heart
of gold. Knew and loved Louie. Intimidated by Angie.
Wears-the-same- clothes-every- day kind of guy.

Rocky - (28-35) Rocky Balboa type (first Rocky movie). Must look tough
and muscular but have excellent comic timing. Must be fit. Please
provide shirtless photo with HS/Resume.

Adrian - (22-30) Adrian type from Rocky (first movie). Petite and mousy
at first sight, but actually quite attractive. Please send full body
photo along with HS/Resume

Louie Lambada - (30-40) Italo-Irish. Dashing. Must look like a prize
fighter, ala Rocky Marciano. Kind of a throwback look.

Smokey Joe Cashier - (20-40) African-American. Dashing, charming Sugar
Ray Leonard type. Must be muscular but have excellent comic timing. Must
be fit. Please provide shirtless photo with HS/Resume.
