Auditions for non-union showcase of eight 10-minute plays “8×10 Glossy Shorts: Plays from the Left Hip”
“8×10 Glossy Shorts: Plays from the Left Hip” is holding auditions Tuesday night, Jan. 19, from 6-9 p.m. at The Shell Theater at the Times Square Arts Center, 4th Floor, at 43rd Street and 8th Avenue.
The Details:
1) This is a non-union showcase of eight 10-minute plays. No pay.
2) Performances will be Feb. 10-14 (7 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday, 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday. 3 p.m. Saturday and 4 p.m. Sunday.).
3) The rehearsal schedule, because the time frame is truncated (two weeks), is already locked in. If cast, actors will need to be able to commit to rehearsal times allotted.
4) That rehearsal schedule is in daylight hours — That’s when we have the space. Two 2-hour blocks (Sunday/Tuesday or Monday/Wednesday sometime between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. depending on which play they are cast in) the week of Jan. 24-28 and one 2.5 hour block (Monday/Wednesday or Tuesday/Thursday sometime between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m.) the week of Feb. 1-4.
5) Details of the exact the exact rehearsal blocks for each show will be spelled out at the auditions.
6) Sides will be available at the audition.
