Auditions for Fire Island by Charles Mee (Hoboken, NJ)
Producer/Director Noelle Tate is casting Fire Island by Charles L. Mee. Charles Mee is an American playwright, historian and author known for his collage-like style of writing that utilizes radical reconstructions of found texts. Assistant Direction & Tech Direction by Karl Hammerle. Rehearses mid March – June with performances June 3 – 6 in Hoboken, NJ.
Seeking 10 strong actors (5 males, 5 females) to play over twenty eccentric roles in this peculiar romantic comedy which will combine film and theater on stage. Physical improvisation enhances the relationships discovered during this show. Please note that all actors will need to be comfortable moving and using physical activity to embody emotions.
Open Auditions by Appt. Non-Union actors only. Possible Pay. Please prepare a 1 – 2 minute Comedic or Dramatic Monologue, physically engaged acting encouraged. Additional cold reading or improvisation may be requested. Auditions are Sunday, February 28th 2-5pm & Wednesday, March 3rd 6:30-9pm at the Hoboken Business Center, 50 Harrison Street, Ste 214, Hoboken, NJ 07030 –visitor parking available in parking lot.
