Auditioning Actors for Stage Play “A Lying Truth” – New York, NY

A young girl sexually abused by her father forces her very religious lawyer to look in the mirror and face her own domestic issues. A play that delves into hypocrisy, perception, and challenges the audience to discover the wicked truth’s behind another’s lies.

CASTING:

Gabriella: 16-22 to play 17. Black. Rape victim. Strong dramatic ability a must.

Brenda: 30-50 to play Gabriellas mother.

Martin: 30-50 to play Gabriella father. Black. Strong dramatic ability a must. Character has many layers.

Angela: 16-22 to play 17 yrs. Any race. Rough, highly defensive. Strong dramatic ability.

Joe: 30-50. Martin’s best friend. Black. Must be strong versatile actor.

Peter: 16-22 to play 17. Gabriella’s socially awkward friend.

Simone: 16-22 to play 17. Any race. Gabriella wise cracking friend. Comedic.

Ellen: 16-22 to play 17. Caucasian. Gabriella friend. Wisdom beyond her years, very mature.

Sandra: 30-50 to play Angela’s mother in one scene.

Auditions throughout the month of August in New Rochelle.
Rehearsals start in October.
Just a weekend or two performance run in February or March.
No pay.
