Actors Needed for Staged Reading (4 M, 1 F) (East Village) (NYC)
The Black Moniker Theatre Company…
is putting on a staged reading of playwright Christopher Nunez’s new play: “No Sad Tomorrow”.
The entire cast is 9. We are in need of 5 more.
The characters we have yet to cast are as follows:
Javier Villegas – 40’s – Colombian American, Father
Suddath – 40’s – Born of an Indian mother and a Spanish father – Mother
Paulo – 30’s – Italian American – Violin Player
Vincenzo Micelli – Late 30’s – Italian – Belligerent Chef (Italian accent required)
Father Paul – 40’s – Irish American – Priest (in the midst of his fall from grace)
Ramon – 40’s – Mexican – Father living in a station wagon
PROJECT DETAILS:
- No Sad Tomorrow is a three act play.
- The purpose of this reading is to further the development of a work in progress,
prepare the play for it’s production (next year),
to present the piece to prospective directors and company sponsors,
and hopefully meet some talented new actors in the process.
- While this is a “staged reading” there will be rehearsals.
- You will be required to be off book by the day of the reading.
- The reading will be sometime near the end of January / early February.
- The venue is still undecided but it will likely be either the Center Stage theatre or the LAByrinth Theater Company rehearsal space.
- This is not a paying job, but is a great artistic opportunity as well as an opportunity to show case your talent for consideration for our full-scale productions.
- We are not making any money off of this either, it is purely for the purpose of the further development of the piece.
