Casting Call for Student Film “Starfire” – Miami, FL
Casting Call Details:
Absurd comedy. 1940s era soldiers at the outbreak of a mysterious disease. Plays with doubt, paranoia, and restraint. Playful, high energy actors required.
Casting:
Erin- playing age 22-25
Femme military nurse, publicly homophobic, otherwise rational, level headed, secretive, restrained, prideful. Cares what other people think, wants to be respected and appreciated, hiding her sexuality.
Ed Helm- playing age 18-22
A proper gentleman, the epitome of sensitivity. Craves attention from his superiors, has a competitive streak.
Staff Sergeant Freeborn- playing age 26-35
Normally self satisfied and narcissistic with delusions of grandeur, quickly discovers his vulnerability and mortality.
*All characters have a transatlantic (1940s American film) accent.
