4 Christ Sake Entertainment Casting Call.
For Crying Out Loud, the South Florida theatrical debut of 4ChristSake Entertainment, is a riveting story of four very different patients receiving treatment in a wellness center. Brand New Day Wellness Center, headed by Dr. Jobari Strong, isn’t your typical mental health clinic. Where other doctors treat the symptoms, Dr. Strong, along with his assistant, Mary, help their patients with spiritually-led advice to help the whole person realize there is indeed hope.

With patients ranging from the beautiful, successful Leslie Charles to single mother of five, Samira Wellington, the audience will see that people from all walks of life have issues to work out.

For Crying Out Loud uncovers depression and mental illness in a relatable and understandable way. The audience will leave uplifted through Biblical stories that parallel the patients’ own struggles and shortcomings. With songs of praise and an underlying theme of continuous hope the patients’ stories will uplift and encourage anyone who has something to cry out about.

We are casting actors and singers for a one-day run on Saturday, December 26, 2009.

ROLES

Jobari Strong, Black male. Muscular build. Confident demeanor.
Age: 35 – 45
Occupation: Psychologist/Founder of New Day Wellness Center
Jobari is well-respected, and likable. He has a cheery disposition but can be serious at times. His goal is to help others find Christ through their sufferings and provide the best care possible. He genuinely cares about people.

Samira Wellington, Black female. Overweight. Depressed.
Age – 30 – 40
Occupation: Waitress
Samira is suffering from depression. She is at a point in her life where she is embarrassed and being held down by her past. She comes to the wellness center after having a nervous breakdown at work.She’s trying to handle too much without any help. She feels empty.

Leslie Charles, Black or Latina female. Very stylish, attractive and arrogant. Overconfident.
Age: 25 – 28
Occupation: Pharmacist
Leslie has everything a girl could want. A great career, her own house, a nice body and the perfect relationship. On the outside, everything is perfect. After being engaged to her fiance` Michael for the past year and a half, Leslie is ready to walk down the aisle and become his wife.

Jacob Smalls, Black male, sickly disposition. Small frame.
Age : 45 – 55
Occupation: Addiction Specialist/Counselor
Jacob works as an Addiction Specialist to help those suffering with drug and alcohol addictions. A former addict himself, Jacob’s health is starting to fail. His past is catching up with him. He has cirrhosis of the liver and prostate cancer. Even though he stopped abusing alcohol over 20 years ago, and now works as a counselor and AA sponsor, Jacob’s health is taking a downfall. Jacob, a faithful Christian and member of the local Church of Christ, has lost faith in God and has become very depressed. His children, who are used to seeing him upbeat and positive, refer him to the wellness center when he speaks of wanting to die. He has lost his purpose and has no hope.

Andre Jones, White male, attractive, low self esteem.
Age: 27 – 34
Occupation: Real Estate Investor/ Loan Officer
Andre, a newly married man is struggling to support his wife and newborn baby. With the downturn of the economy, things are getting tighter at home. Bills are piling up and he can’t make ends meet. Creditors are calling and he doesn’t know what to do. His wife threatens to leave him if he doesn’t make things right. So, Andre is willing to do anything to bring in more income. Andre falsifies a loan document in order to make a higher return and is caught by the higher ups at his company. He loses his job and his wife leaves with their son. He seeks counsel from Dr. Strong.

Mary Leon, Black Woman
Age: 40 – 55
Occupation: Mental Health Tech/Psychology Student
Mary is the backbone of The Brand New Day Wellness Center. She has known Dr. Strong since he was a little boy. She is the voice of “realness” and reason. She is very wise and gives tough love.

Smaller roles:

Miyah Andrews, Leslie’s friend. Jealous of Leslie.
Age: 27 – 29
Occupation: Office Manager.

Jasmine Thomas, Leslie’s friend. Naive. Sweet demeanor.
Age: 25 – 27
Occupation: Academic Advisor

Michael Cunningham, Leslie’s Fiance, Black or Latino male. Cocky demeanor. Very attractive and aware of it.
Age: 27 – 32
Occupation: Teacher/ Football Coach.
