SYNOPSIS:
The Dying Truth is an emotional cutting-edge story that takes us into the life of a dying boy, copying with the effects and difficulties of living with the Aids virus, and his obscured relationship with his family and even his own refining existence, while struggling to make mends with his mother.
BREAKDOWNS:
DEVON: LEAD: (16-17 years old), AFRICAN-AMERICAN MALE. He is suffering with the Aids virus and his obscured relationship with his family, his faith, and even his own refining existence.
ELLA: LEAD (Early 40’s), African-American Female. Forties but looks damn near fifty from years of drug abuse and sickness. She is fresh out of prison: lesions on her skin, hair in corn rows, no makeup, double-pierced ears, cracked lips. She is looking for forgiveness from Devon.
NADINE: SUPPORTING (Late 30’s), AFRICAN-AMERICAN FEMALE. She is Devon’s aunt and the only mother Devon has ever known.
ERICA: SUPPORTING (30’s), AFRICAN-AMERICAN FEMALE. Very pretty. She is Devon’s older cousin and best friend.
BULLIES:(16-17 years old), MALES, ANY RACE. (Need 5 bullies)
