“THE RAINMAKER”
A NOISE WITHIN’S 2008/2009 SEASON
Theatre
AEA
Starts September 2, 2008
Seeking:
H.C. CURRY: Mid-50s to 60s, a good man-something of a dreamer
NOAH CURRY: Late 20s to early 30s. Rigidly opinionated and self-righteous. He cares deeply about his family but tends to strong-arm them
JIMMY CURRY: Early 20s. Somewhat childlike. He doesn’t feel very bright, particularly around his older brother, Noah
LIZZIE CURRY: Late 20s. At first glance, a woman who can cope with all aspects of her life. She knows her place in the family and enjoys her position as daughter, sister, mother, child. A strong woman in every aspect but one; her desperate yearning for romance
FILE: In his 30s. If he is somewhat bitter about the world, it is balanced by a mischievous humor
SHERIFF: 40s to 50s. A kind man who enjoys meddling in other people’s affairs
BILL STARBUCK: Late 20s to early 40s. A big man physically and energetically; a loud braggart and gentle dreamer. He is a charmer, a magician, a man who commands attention
