Film Noir Western short film Auditions (Spring, TX)
PLEASE READ ENTIRE MESSAGE: We will be holding auditions for a short film that will be produced over the course of 2 weekends: one the weekend of February 13-14; the other during a weekend in March that is TBD, but is tentatively scheduled for March 7-8. It will be filmed in two locations, with one set of cast members needed for one location, and another set of cast members for the other. The first location is in Goliad, TX, which is south of Victoria. The second will more than likely be in Roundtop, TX. These will be NO-PAY gigs, however, we will provide meals each day.
Here are the characters, with descriptions, that we are casting for:
1. The Priest – a heavy set man between the ages of 40 and 50. Hispanic or Caucasian.
2. Bishop – ages 50 – 65. Preferably thin. Caucasian or Hispanic.
3. Altar Boy – ages 8 – 13. Hispanic, Native American, or Caucasian.
4. Hispanic Man – ages 22 – 35. Preferably thin.
5. Hispanic Woman – ages 22 – 35. Preferably pregnant or able to pass for pregnant (even if just early stage pregnancy).
6. Preacher’s Wife – ages 28 – 40. Natural hair color (not obviously colored), and preferably not too short (if in doubt, try out!)
7. Apache Girl/Young Woman – ages 14 – 18. Hispanic or Native American. We’re obviously looking for more of the Apache look.
8. Apache Boy/Young Man – ages 10 – 16. Hispanic or Native American. We’re obviously looking for more of the Apache look.
9. Sheriff – ages 35 – 55. Caucasian.
Auditions will be held 2 nights next week: Wednesday the 27th and Thursday the 28th at 7:00 PM both nights. PLEASE RSVP INDICATING WHICH NIGHT YOU WILL AUDITION. This prevents having too many people any one night. If you have a resume, bring it please. We will take a still shot of you and video record the audition. If you have a one-minute monologue, we welcome and encourage it. Auditions will be held at:

This is a childcare facility that has been graciously lent to us for those two nights. Kind of a funny place to do this, but they have the room we need. PLEASE DO NOT ARRIVE MORE THAN 10 MINUTES EARLY. The facility closes for business at 6:30 PM, but the last of their employees do not leave until around 6:45-6:50. Sorry to sound like a dictator, but we have to respect the business’ rules.
This short will be submitted to film festivals, producers, and investors, so please understand that there is potential for exposure of your talent. Feel free to ask any questions you have. Thanks.
