Project Notes: This is a series of short films about high stakes negotiations in Iraq, conveying the intense nature of the process along with necessity for cultural awareness and sensitivity. They are being produced in conjunction with the Institute for Creative Technology, a joint venture between the university of Southern California and the US Army.

Farid - Lead / MALE / 33 TO 37 / Arab

Must speak fluent Arabic.
Farid is a Captain in Iraqi National Police, and the highest ranking officer in his small town. He is cautious and most things, preferring to avoid risk unless the reward is truly spectacular. He has a deep loyalty and affection for his town and its people, and sometimes that comes out as anger or a difficult personality, but ultimately he only wants what is best. Must speak fluent Arabic.

$500 per day

Interpreter - Supporting / MALE / 28 TO 32 / Arab
Required Skills - Dialects: Arabic; Languages: Arabic
Must speak fluent Arabic.
The interpreter is an Iraqi who has worked with the National Police and US Military several times before, with varying results. He is a good interpreter, but can be biased by the meeting participants, and will sometimes add his own take on things if he feels like it. An empathetic sort, his own personality and disposition act as a barometer for how the discussion is going. Must speak fluent Arabic.

$500 per day

Story Line: After an IED destroys a bridge in a small Iraqi town, the US Military and Iraqi National police must work together to find a solution to restore peace without stirring new conflict.
