This is a workshop production of a new play by Josefina Lopez (writer of
Real Women Have Curves).
Seeking-
Special Notes: Seeking 4 strong, versatile actresses to share multiple
roles. If you attended our season auditions earlier this year, please
resubmit as this director was not able to attend.
BATTERY QUEEN: Chinese woman, late 40s, a simple woman who lectures at
universities and community centers about the dangers of battery poison and
how to temporarily recycle batteries.
ALMA: Mexican-American woman, 30s, a writer, writes for the El Paso
Newspaper, working on a story of the missing women of Ciudad Juarez.
YOLANDA: Early 20s, Tree Woman she spent a couple of months living up in a
tree without coming down.
SALLY: Late 20s, needs to speak with a phony French accent then with a
southern twang, very dramatic, has been arrested in France and taken to a
police station for questioning and possible booking.
SOLEDAD: 30s, is being hypnotized for her neck pain, while under she steps
back into time and into the lives of different women.
THELMA JOHNSON: 60s, old hippie, leading a workshop Getting in Touch with
your Inner Goddess.
MOTHER NATURE: 12-year-old girl in pigtails (seeking an adult actress who
can play 12).
LA KATRINA: 40s, a woman who survived the recent hurricane in New Orleans.
