Sides will be available at a later date. Welcome to the Moon and Other Plays is a series of short vignettes about the nature of love and how people deal with love. Winning, losing, finding love in unexpected places with unexpected people. Some of the plays have realistic settings, while others are fantastic. The entire production is less than 1 hour in length.

SEEKING-

JOHN: 17 years old who finds himself in love

MARY: 16 years old, straightforward

POET: Male, iconic poet, tending towards despondency because of his hard life

LOVE: Female, fully loving and supportive

WOMAN: 25 to 35. Fervently wants to delve deeper into her life but not without a sense of humor.

MAN: 25 to 35. Resigned to living with his monsters, somewhat cynical, but then finds some release.

COWBOY: Iconic

GIRL (SALLY): Barely 20, if that. Feels confined by her life, yearns to be free

WALTER: Urban guy, around 30, wants to share his newly discovered feelings with his friend.

JIM: Another urban guy around 30, Walter’s friend, whom Jim thinks has fallen off the deep end.

VINNIE: 32. Bronx native. Works in the post office; trying to help a friend

STEPHEN: 32. Bronx native. Distraught

RONNY: 32. Bronx native. Chronically depressed; periodically attempts suicide

SHIRLEY: 32. Bronx native. Stephen’s old girlfriend. Blunt, but basically a sweetie

ARTIE: Old Irish bartender, sings ballad, ‘When You Were Sweet Sixteen’

TWO STAGE HANDS: No lines. These two will open the show, change the scenery, escort the actors on and off, provide props when needed, perhaps even some sound effects. Extremely important element. Not in the original script
