Starts November 2008 Copy, meal, credit for now This is an experimental
project by a UCLA filmmaker who has directed six short films.
The director has worked with children in three of those short films. One of
which took BEST OF FEST in 2007 that featured an outstanding performance
by the young actress. This piece was inspired by a dream that evolved
into a one of a kind story that has a modern day feel of “A Little
Princess” with a bit of “Oliver Twist” and “Cast Away”.
Seeking:
RUBY ‘WISHBONE’ THOMPSON: 8-13 years old. My lead will be 95% of the show on
her own and must be comfortable being on screen with out other actors to
play off of. Wishbone is a look into the life of a young girl who loses
her mother to a drug overdose and to avoid being put into the foster
care system, takes matters into her own hands in order to survive.
Growing up with a mother addicted to drugs taught Ruby to be quite
observant and street smart. We follow her through a typical day living
under the radar and what she needs to do to avoid being found out. She
is a true survivor. Could you disappear without being found?
