This is the 9 minute pilot episode for a new comedy web series being developed
for My Space. It is based on the discovery of archival surveillance footage of a
super cool hip cop (a la Steve McQueen in ‘Bullitt’) set in 1970s LA. The pilot
is being produced under one of the lower budget Aftra agreements (talent will be
paid approx. $75/ day). This is a great opportunity for talent not only in terms
of the work, footage, and exposure but to also work with Jay Torres, an
established television (”Desperate Housewives”, “Alias”) and award winning
commercial Director

Principles:

DETECTIVE QUINCY “THE TEACUP” TAYLOR AKA QT: (Late 20s - Early 40s, Caucasian)
QT IS FOUR FEET TALL GIVE OR TAKE (IF YOU’RE TALLER THAN 5 FEET, PLEASE DON’T
SUBMIT), a dapper dresser, an expert in kung-fu, and a full-time swinger. While
he’s the best detective in LA, he’s constantly arguing with the Chief and he’s
prepared to break the law to get his man. He knows nothing of his past and is
determined to find out where he comes from. QT is always cool under pressure and
is as smooth with the ladies (he only dates supermodels) as he is fighting
crime.

DETECTIVE RON SMITHSON: (Late 30s - Early 50s, African American) - Ronnie, as he
sometimes goes by, is a six foot tall, Compton native, who joined the force as a
foot patrolman in the 50s. He has a heart of gold and has been around forever.
He is a new breed of intellectual cop and is always reading the latest self help
books and keeps current on the newly awakened cultural revolution for African
Americans. He doesn’t speak much, but when he does, it’s profound. He is always
inventing new phrases that will live on and become a standard part of the
cultural lexicon. That doesn’t mean he’s a pushover, he uses brute force when he
needs to and has an unfaltering loyalty to QT. He would take a bullet for Teacup
the second an opportunity presented itself. The story goes that Ronnie saved
QT’s life once. Since then, QT took Ronnie on as his partner and they’ve had a
bond ever since.

THE CHIEF: (Early 40s to Early 60s Caucasian) The chief is loud crass. He speaks
nonsensically about the mayor, the department, and the corruption in his city.
He’s a good cop and spends most of his days trying to survive with all the drama
going on in the department. He knows QT is the best there is but he has trouble
managing his unorthodox methods. They butt heads a lot. Conversations usually
end with The Chief telling Ronnie to make sure QT doesn’t get into trouble. In a
pinch however, when QT needs The Chief there, he’s always there with a megaphone
in hand and five squad cars. It’s a tumultuous relationship that QT and The
Chief have, but an honest one.

TASHA: (Early 20s to Early 30s, Ethnically Ambiguous) Tasha is QT’s supermodel
ex-girlfriend. They had a good thing for a while but there no person on the
planet who can get all of QT, he’s consumed with learning about his past and the
various crimes that he’s solving. Tasha needed someone more dedicated. Since
their relationship ended however, they’ve become close friends. And since Tasha
grew up on the street she always a great source of information and can hold her
own with a 9mm as well.
