Seeking actors for “One Last Good-bye”, non-union, CSUN film students production
The title of the movie is One Last Good-bye.
Auditions take place in Northridge, California at Cal State University Northridge campus. Date is TBA.
We are currently searching for “John,” who is between the ages of 33 and 45, playing an alcoholic who has ruined his own life and is now seeking redemption before it’s too late.
We envision John as a Caucasian male- Italian descent will work, and possibly even Latino men. John’s looking scruffy and grizzled toward the end of his life when he is dying, but clean-shaven, on his journey to the next world of purgatory, and Paradisio.
Our movie is a short, between five and seven minutes long.
We are shooting in digital 24P, and also 16mm film to be combined for a desired contrast.
We are a non-union, student production. We are CSUN film students, and are working as a student film crew.
Our cast includes three characters: John an ailing alcoholic, on his last legs, seeking redemption, Maria. His bitter and scarred ex-wife, and their deceased daughter Emma.
Maria has already been cast. John was casted, but our actor had to recently bail, due to a family situation. We are very excited about this moving story, and it should be a great asset to anyone’s portfolio.

We are not offering pay, but we are offering food, finalized DVD copy, meals and transportation subsidizing.

EXT. HOUSE – CONTINUOUS
Maria opens the door.
Maria
Oh God, what are you doing here John?
She begins to close the door.
JOHN
(holds the door)
Wait.
(beat)
I know what you told me. I just, I had to see you.
MARIA
What more do you want?
JOHN
I just want to talk.
(beat)
I want to make things right.
MARIA
(her eyes water)
We’re beyond talking.
(beat)
Nothing you say could take back what happened to Emma.
Beat. John steps back defeated, releasing the door. Maria wipes her eyes.
JOHN
I’ve been running it over and over in my head.
(beat)
I was drinking… I was reckless…
(sighs)
I should’ve been watching her.
Maria looks away and tries desperately to suppress her tears.
JohN (cONT’D)
(avoids eye contact)
I change her flowers every day, but nothing changes.
