Special Notes: AmerAsian3 is the third and most exciting installment of the AmerAsian trilogy. The first 2 films are in latter stages of post production.
Synopsis: American-born Asian graduate student, Eric Young, is lured back to college baseball field one final time to play for the Division 2 Volcanos, passing himself off to be 10 years younger to try out for the team. Once Eric makes the cut, he mentors his AmerAsian roommate, fellow backup catcher, Frates, who returns the favor by displaying up close and personal, the real life mental consequences of steroid use. Eric, often injured, develops a relationship with his neighbor, Jackie, the team’s All-American physical therapist. When ex-boyfriend Smaller joins the baseball coaching staff, attempting to win Jackie back, Eric finds himself the victim of jealousy & retaliation.
Questioning his purpose in life, Eric searches deep within and discovers just how closely the philosophies of baseball and life correlate. He ultimately learns that the true enemy is really himself and that he and Frates are really one. As the Volcanos struggle desperately to avoid infamy of recording the only winless season in college baseball history, Eric must choose between risking his identity for the fate of his team, or abandoning his lifelong dream once and for all.

JACKIE: Caucasian co-ed, 18-25; A physical therapist and personal trainer who helps Eric rehab from multiple injuries; As beautiful on the inside as she is out, but has difficulty shedding deep feelings for her ex-boyfriend, Smaller; Energetic, spirited, and fun, but can be daring, curious, and experimental; Challenges Eric to come to terms with his deeply buried insecurities and forces him to change for his own good; Athleticism, therapist knowledge, light hair, and/or light eyes are pluses; Emotionally involving and demanding role; Co-Star Role for $300 flat.
KIRSTEN: Caucasian or Caucasian/Asian mixed co-ed; 22-25; Athletically fit, she’s a sweet, bright, and attractive graduate student, who befriends Eric before having an innocent fling with Jackie’s ex-boyfriend, Smaller; Small Supporting Role for copy/credit only.
COACH MEYERS: Male, Any ethnicity, 35-55; All-American and Athletic with a possible military background; First year head baseball coach who takes a liking to Eric, although he favors scholarship players over the walk-ons; As his team spirals down toward the only winless season in college baseball history, he ultimately confides in Eric as he struggles to hold his team together. Strong supporting Role (copy/credit)
FRATES: Caucasian or Asian-Mixed senior backup catcher, 22-27; Athletic, fit, and absolutely must be able to perform at the college baseball level; Soft-spoken and laid back around his teammates, but must be able to take vocal charge of a college baseball game as catcher; Eric’s alter ego, suppressing underlying issues; Can change quickly from friendly and confident to flamboyant and obnoxious; After an injury, his steroid usage increases, threatening Eric’s identity & sanity; Physically demanding role; Lead Role
CARLTON: Freshman, 18-20; 5′9″ or taller , Any ethnicity; College level baseball skills or higher only; Please include baseball experience with submission; A self-proclaimed Freshman Phenom, who can both pitch & play the outfield well; Looks up to Eric for guidance and wisdom, playing an integral role in the season finale; Laid back, yet confident; Supporting Role for copy/credit
BARBER: Any ethnicity, Senior catcher, 20-24; College level baseball skills or higher only (please note baseball experience on submission); The team’s captain, best player, and possible steroid user; A thug who often bumps heads with Eric and Frates; Mischievous, egotistical, and known for short cuts and cheap shots and not afraid to fight; Strong Supporting for Copy/Credit.
