“PARKER” NON-UNION Short Film Cool Room Entertainment Director/Producer: Teo Shoots Feb. 24th & 25th Meals, scene copy Short film leading to feature-length version LOGLINE: A troublesome, mute female boxer, imprisoned for murder, makes a deal with mobsters for her freedom. Seeking- NOTE: This film is NOT about a look. It’s about believable acting ability. ONLY STRONG ACTORS NEED APPLY!! This is an EOE project. PARKER: (late 20s to mid 30s) Female. African-American. The #1 female boxer in the California penal system who’s stubborn pride keeps her in trouble with her captors. Though she’s been in prison 13 years she’s really more of a big kid internally and emotionally than she is a hardened criminal. (Believable boxing skills an/or ASL skills a plus but not mandatory) MARY: (13) Female. African-American. A clever, young con artist who survives on her wits and scams. BUSTER RITT: (30 - 40) Race open. Smoooooooth. He arranges a secret meeting in the prison to offer Parker a conditional freedom if she’ll put her skills to work for his racketeer bosses. He-s good to look at but bad to trust. MAX CRENNA: (40 - 60) Male. Latino, Caucasian or Asian. The tough love-but-fair Parole Officer who reasons with Parker to help her understand the destructive path she could be taking. THE WARDEN: (35 - 50) Female. Latino, Caucasian or African-American /A smarmy dictator of a prison warden whose best quality is her obscenely selfish greed. CHAMBERS: (mid 20s to mid 30s) Male. The Warden’ s shadow. A corrections officer who’s a slippery snake wrapped in a shmuck. HAROLD PAYMER: (50s) Male. Race open. A restaurant diner who squabbles with his wife before excusing himself to go to the restroom where he becomes a pawn in Mary’s scam. MANDY PAYMER: (50s) Female. Race Open. Harold’ s wife of 30 years. SHANNON: (14 - 16) Male. A bully who shakes down and assaults a group of younger kids. YOUNG GIRL #1: Featured / FEMALE / 12 TO 15 / African, African American, Black - White Mix, Hispanic, Latin When being shaken down by an older, bigger kid, she cries and gives up her money. YOUNG GIRL #2: Featured / FEMALE / 13 TO 16 When being shaken down by older/bigger kid she willingly lets him grope/feel her prematurely developing body.
