Casting Call Details:
UCLA film director is looking for older lead actors for her Thesis film being shot in the end of February (02/23-02/26).
This is a non-union, no pay shoot. All credits and reel will be provided.
An old man struggles to take care of his wife who suffered from Alzheimer’s. Although she can’t remember him, she still feels his love.
KATHY / 65-70 yrs. / Caucasian
Kathy (65). She grew up as an orphan in a church. Very lonely person. She learnt how to write and play piano to fill the time. She got married with Melvin, her husband for 20 years. After that, she got Alzheimer’s disease. She almost lost her skills, including reading, writing, and eating, as well. Her memory problems got worse and she failed to recognize close relatives. Behavioral and neuropsychiatric changes became more prevalent. Common manifestations were wandering, irritability and labile affect, leading to crying outbursts of unpremeditated aggression, or resistance to caregiving. However, her husband never left her alone, even though she forgot him.
MELVIN / 65-70 yrs. / Caucasian
Melvin (68). He worked for LA Times as political columnist for 15 years. He became a teacher in a famous university in Los Angeles before re-tired from his job to take care of his wife Kathy who has Alzheimer’s disease. His character is good looking, confident, charming and friendly. He met Kathy and fell in love with her. When the problem of his wife gets worse, he tries to take care of her by himself. However, she still can’t remember him, he will be there for her in every moment supporting her.
