Looking for male and female actors for feature film
We are shooting a feature film slated to begin principal photography this July, 2009. Over the next 4-6 weeks, we are casting in New York, Kansas City, and Los Angeles. Our LA casting will be held in two weeks. (2/6/09 – 2/7/09) We are looking for actors, both male & female, over the age of 18, but with appearance of 14-16 years of age. *Minors will be considered but must be accompanied by an adult. Character descriptions below:
CHARACTER #1
Elizabeth Ann, Bess as she’s known, wants nothing more than to leave what has become a rueful and fruitless existence. Alone in the world, this overweight pre-teen is the brunt of her peers humor, and a thorn in her mothers side. Despite her social ranking, she’s no pushover. This Bess has bite. Unfortunately it doesn’t hinder the abuse from others, but encourages it. Bess prefers to coat her life with more sensational, and often inconsistent, lies. Most of which she feeds to the only one who will listen, her lone friend, Waldo Esposito.
CHARACTER #2
Waldo, the American born son of Mexican immigrants, lives in a trailer with his brother. He has never known his mother or father. Like Bess, Waldo is the brunt of his peers jokes, but unlike Bess, Waldo doesn’t know it. A dim witted, awkward looking little boy, Waldo happily makes good on all dares his peers through his way. Eat a tadpole? Done. Jump in the mud? With pleasure. Waldo takes whatever attention he can get and always does it with a smile. Waldo suffers from epilepsy, and often fakes a seizure when the class bullies attempt to invoke one in him. His only guiding light in the world is Bess. She is everything to him; his protector, his pal and his role model.
