But when she’s framed for a series of vicious murders by a cunning serial killer, DETECTIVE TISCHLER is slow to accept the fact that she is a victim and not a predator. Seeking- RACHEL JONES: 18 years old, with blonde hair, Rachel is a survivor of childhood sexual abuse. Raped by her stepbrother while her stepfather watched, Rachel has fled her rotten family and is living in a Hollywood apartment, trying to make sense of her already ruined life. Her rigid therapist (who also controls her large trust fund) refuses to give her anti-depressants, and her computer is talking to her, manipulated by some freak who watches her constantly. Aware of her own sexuality but unable to properly control it, Rachel becomes the focus of intense police scrutiny when a series of older men are murdered, and the threads of evidence all lead back to Rachel. But in fact, Rachel is still a victim, and the perverted killer who is obsessed with her eventually surfaces to confront Rachel — the object of his maddened sexual and financial desires. LEAD DETECTIVE LAWRENCE TISCHLER: An undercover detective from the Midwest, Tischler has an earring in his right ear, has long hair with a pinkie fingernail painted green, and wears a trenchcoat and sunglasses. The head of a task force, Tischler is hunting for a serial killer who preys on older men in their 50s. Convinced that his murderer is a young prostitute who is getting revenge for a past history of sexual abuse, Tischler soon fingers Rachel Jones as a prime suspect. When several people from Rachel’s circle of acquaintances are killed, Tischler is convinced that she’s a stupidly clumsy serial killer, and he’s slow to deduce that Rachel is being fitted for a frame. LEAD ED DINES: A good looking 20 year old man, Ed meets Rachel through a personal ad. Looking for a good looking woman with a fetish, Ed is fascinated by Rachel, who obsessively uses different colored lights to alter her mood. Attracted to Rachel and moved by her painful confessions of her past, Ed wants to convince her that he’s not like the other men in her life — but the wary Rachel forces him to jump through hoops to prove that he’s not yet another abusive sociopath. LEAD PATTY WILLIAMS: A 27 year old hooker, Patty has blonde hair, and lives in an apartment next to Rachel’s. Patty has been hooking and taking drugs since she was 15, and is unapologetic about her street-criminal lifestyle. She befriends the lonely Rachel, and initially is delighted to have a girlfriend in the building. But Rachel’s history and behavior soon gives Patty the creeps, and before long she avoids Rachel, regarding her as a clingy weirdo. Patty winds up murdered by the serial killer, who is chopping away at Rachel’s social circle. LEAD DR. ROD HUFFMAN: An Italian-American man in his 50s, who has never dated anyone over the age of 25, he is Rachel’s friend and therapist, a man who believes that a patient must create a successful network of supportive relationships in order to heal. An opponent of pharmaceutical therapy, Dr. Huffman is also the executor of Rachel’s trust fund, and he refuses to give her either drugs or money, believing that only friends (and ultimately, God) will heal Rachel’s deep wounds. But Dr. Huffman winds up murdered himself by the serial killer — his son Matthew. LEAD MATHEW HUFFMAN: The son of Dr. Rod Huffman, Mathew has known Rachel all her life — and he knows she will inherit a fortune once his father no longer administers her trust fund. A cunning madman, Mathew is the Rachel-obsessed serial killer who has murdered a series of older men, and added to his list of victims by killing Rachel’s circle of friends. Convinced that he will wind up with her, he pressures her to frame Ed for the killings and split her money with him — but Mathew’s wild schemes only land him in jail. 2 speeches & 8 lines, 2 scenes DAVID WID: The manager of Rachel’s apartment building, David is a gay man of average height, with brown spiked hair, wearing leather pants and a pink shirt. A man with his own history of homicidal violence, David demands that Rachel pay the rent, and later is convinced that she is a schizo when she insists her computer is talking to her. 1 speech & 9 lines, 5 scenes KURT JONES: Rachel’s stepfather, he is an overweight man of 50, 6′2″, first seen wearing a tank top and boxer shorts. Having encouraged hs son to rape her, Kurt watches her suffering in a state of heavy-breathing excitement. After his son is killed, Kurt tries to blame Rachel for the killing.
