This Production of Comedy of Errors will take place in a 1920’s blind pig
run by a man named Father Pinch along the Detroit River. This speak easy’s
front is called the “Deutsches Haus” a soup kitchen and mission for the down
trotted.
Seeking-
Age and ethnicity open, unless noted. Please prepare a classical comic
monologue.
DUCHESS SOLINUS: (AGE MID 30′S TO LATE 40′S) a powerful, tough lady, sort of
the female butcher from Gangs of New York; the head haunchos of the purple
gang, she was named after the speak easy that housed their head-quaters.
(The Deutsches Haus) she carries a flask in one stocking a pistol in the
other.
EGEON: a man in his 50s or so. He is wealthy a rum-runner and is used to
trouble and knows how to get out.
ANTIPHOLUS OF SYRACUSE: a man in his twenties, raised by his father, Egeon,
and has been searching for his long lost twin brother with his servant for
the past 5 years. DANCING SKILLS ARE A PLUS!
ANTIPHOLUS OF EPHESUS: his twin raised in an orphanage with his servant,
married a rich woman, but maintain his player status at The Dutches Haus.
DANCING SKILLS ARE A PLUS!
DROMIO OF SYRACUSE: a man or woman, born on the same day and is the life
long servant to Antipholus of Syracuse. Excellent comic timing and VERY
PHYSICAL! DANCING SKILLS ARE A PLUS!
DROMIO OF EPHESUS: a man or woman, born on the same day and is the life long
servant to Antipholus of Ephesus. Excellent comic timing and VERY PHYSICAL!
DANCING SKILLS ARE A PLUS!
ADRIANA: rich, spoiled, bossy, wife to Antipholus of Ephesus.
LUCIANA: the sweet, logical, humble and beautiful sister to Adriana. DANCING
SKILLS ARE A PLUS!
BATINA (BALTHASAR): a cigarette girl in The Deutsches Haus and good friend
to Antipholus of Ephesus. DANCING SKILLS ARE A PLUS!
ANGELA (ANGELO): a gypsy who sells her golden goods at The Deutsches Haus
and
good friend Antipholus of Ephesus. DANCING SKILLS ARE A PLUS!
FATHER PINCH: Bartender, Pimp, and owner of The Deutsches Haus. His friends
are prostitutes, gypsies and gangsters; he passes himself off as a holy man,
Father Pinch who does an exorcism on Antipholus.
COURTESAN: one of Pinch’s girls and good friend Antipholus of Ephesus.
DANCING SKILLS ARE A PLUS!
NELL: a large kitchen wench. Maybe a man dressed as a woman.
AMELIA: a woman in her 40s or 50s. For the past 25 years she has been a
Madame at The Deutsches Haus, but parades as an Abyss as her cover.
GAOLERS: Gangsters
