Shoots August 5th to August 30th.
No Pay, Meal and copy of the film provided.
Project Synopsis: “Three stories of a family (mother, daughter and son) that try to survive through their loneliness and obsessions by going through different sexual experiences and relationships with a prostitute”. It has a very artistic and independent approach, with a dark comedy tone.
Thesis project from New York Film Academy, shot in 16mm and directed by two MFA Students. Three short films related, so the main characters will appear in the three of them (15 min. each, aprox.) Around 20 days shot in August, with rehearsals on July 2009. Located in Los Angeles area.
This is a Thesis short film with three short movies related.
No Pay, but meals, credit and copy of the film provided.
The final film will be submitted to different international Film Festivals.
It will be shot in 16 mm Kodak film for 20 days in August 2009.
THERE IS NUDITY IN THIS PROJECT.
Casting:
BESS: Female / Caucasian 18 – 24 years
Description: Bess, a young girl who lives discriminated for her unattractive appearance, tries to experience sex for the first time. She overcomes her insecurity by pretending to be her neighbor Lucy, an attractive prostitute, and “steals” one of her clients. After this experience Bess’s life starts to change.
The actress that represent Bess needs to be over 18, but looking younger than her age (Bess is 16 y/o). She has to be slim and petite, as the character is fragile. She has to be versatile, as she has to change her look through the film. Innocence and curiosity are other main characteristics of the role.
The actress needs to be comfortable performing a sex scene, as one of the main situations of the movie is related to her first sexual encounter. Also partial nudity may be required. Always with an artistic approach. Bess will be the main character of this story, but also a supporting role in the other two films that are part of the story. All of them will be shot in August.
ANDREA: Male / Caucasian or Hispanic / 18 – 24 years
Description: The young Andrea falls in love with a mid-age man, Johnny, who is the pimp and ex-lover of his neighbor Lucy. Johnny tries to seduce Andrea to use him with one of his rich clients, who has odd sexual tendencies. Andrea decides to sell his body to preserve the love of his new “boyfriend”.
The actor that represents Andrea needs to be over 18, but looking younger than his age (Andrea is 17 y/o). He has to be slim and fragile, boyish look. Confidence about himself are other main characteristic of the role. He will need to wear girl clothes in one of the scene and also perform a gay character.
PLEASE, IF YOU HAVE ANY PROBLEM PERFORMING A GAY CHARACTER, DO NOT SUBMIT YOUR HEADSHOT. The actor needs to be comfortable performing a sex scenes. Also nudity may be required. Always with an artistic approach.
Andrea will be the main character of this story, but also a supporting role in the other two films that are part of the story. All of them will be shot in August.
LUCY: Female / Caucasian, Hispanic / 28 – 40 years
Description: Lucy, an experienced prostitute, gets involve in the life of her neighbor’s family and helps to change their repressions and loneliness. She is a immigrant. Ethnic look, attractive body figure, interesting look. It need to be very sensual and the actress need to be comfortable performing a provocative and sexy character.
Lucy is a lead character in two of the three stories.
CARMEN: Female / Caucasian / 30 – 40 years
Description: Carmen, a single and religious mother, wants to test the “confuse” sexuality of her teenager son. She gives to her neighbor prostitute (Lucy) an unusual job. In the process she ends re-discovering her own sexuality. Carmen is having a depressing life, with a lot of misfortune. She is obsessed with her religion.
We are looking for an actress with a mature and interesting look, and speaking in a French accent. She requires to play a character mixed with sad and crazy personality. Also she needs to be comfortable to perform a LESBIAN KISS scene. IF YOU HAVE ANY PROBLEM TO ACT IN A LESBIAN SCENE, PLEASE DO NOT SUBMIT TO THIS PROJECT.
Carmen is the leading role in one of the stories, and a supporting role in the other two.
ANTONIO: Male / 28 – 38 years
Description: Antonio is a mid-aged man with mysterious look and conflictive personality. He is one of Lucy’s clients, but he ends having sex with the teenager girl Bess. We are looking for an actor that has an interesting and mysterious look. The actor needs to feel comfortable performing a sex scene. Also partial nudity may be required, always with an artistic approach.
JOHNNY: Co-Star / Male / Caucasian / 28 – 35 years
Description: Johnny is a Pimp. He tries to seduce a teenage boy because he needs to use him for one of his clients.
Johnny needs to be attractive looking, mature and masculine.
