Life Stories: A Musical Revue
This evening of romantic music features the songs of composers David Shire and Richard Maltby, Jr. – Collin Theatre Center
Directed by Brad Baker and Mark Mullino
Audition Information: Tuesday, August 25, 2009. Open call between 6:00-9:00 PM. Callbacks will be Thursday, August 27 from 7:00-10:00 PM.
Location: John Anthony Theatre, on the campus of Collin College, Jupiter Road, between Spring Creek Parkway and Parker Road. (I-75 N, exit Spring Creek Pkwy-East, R on Jupiter, L onto campus.)
Needs: Casting 2-4 men and 2-4 women
Prepare: Two songs (16-32 bars each) in the style of Matby and Shire (Baby, Big, Closer Than Ever, Starting Here Starting Now). Songs do not have to be composed by Matby and Shire. Auditioners are encouraged to prepare one up-tempo and one slower song.
Rehearse: Rehearsals begin immediately following the callback. Rehearsals will generally be scheduled Monday-Friday, 7:00-10:00 PM and Sunday afternoon.
Performances: LIFE STORIES will be performed on the campus of Collin College in Plano. Performances are October 13-18, 2009. Evening performances are at 8 PM. Weekend matinee performances are at 2:15 PM.
Plot: LIFE STORIES is a new musical revue featuring the songs of David Shire and Richard Maltby, Jr. Southwest Regional Premiere. The Broadway composing team of David Shire and Richard Maltby, Jr. have had numerous thearical hits; including Baby, Closer Than Ever, Big, Take Flight, and Starting Here Starting Now. LIFE STORIES is an evening of romantic music by one of the theatre’s most unsung composing teams.
No Appointments will be taken.
The Collin Theatre Center is an amateur production company and does not pay its performers.
