Open casting call for independent film “Browncoats: Redemption”

Big Damn Fan Films, LLC is having two open calls for talent for their
independent film, “Browncoats: Redemption.” Based in the
Firefly/Serenity universe created by Joss Whedon (Buffy, Angel, Dr.
Horrible, Dollhouse), “Browncoats: Redemption” takes place three
months after the events at the end of the movie “Serenity.” A new crew
and ship are unintentionally thrown into a situation that some will
view as the potential catalyst for a new interstellar civil war. Visit

The open calls will be held from 2-7 p.m. on Saturday, January 17,
2009, and Saturday, January 24, 2009, at the Calvary Community Church,
9180 Rumsey Road, Columbia, MD. All talent should come prepared with a
monologue of their choice, no longer than three minutes. Auditions
will also include a cold read from the script.

All talent should be familiar with the Firefly ‘verse and be able to
provide their own transportation. Shooting is currently scheduled to
take place March 13 through June 7, weekends only, at various
locations around the D.C. metro area. Once completed, the film will be
submitted to local and international film festivals.

This is a nonpaid gig. Meals and beverages will be provided during
production. All talent will receive a copy of the DVD upon completion
to add to their reel.
