Free Casting Calls and Auditions

RavensFilm Productions’ “P.I. Dangerous” is an independent short film; a comic book style crime-fighter action thriller to be shot in Chicago and its surrounding suburbs. Tentative shoot dates include June 25th, 27th, 28th, July 2nd, 3rd, & 12th. The film will be shot on the Sony HVR-Z7U in Native 24p HD digital video by an experienced director of photography. There is an estimated total of six shoot days. While the film is operating on next to no budget at all, and the resources do not exist to offer monetary compensation, everyone involved is guaranteed to received full credit for their work, and a free copy of the completed short film on DVD. Attempts will be made to cover parking costs for the few shoots taking place in the city.

Synopsis: On the streets of Chicago, a lone man exacts justice wherever possible. Self-nicknamed ‘P.I. Dangerous’ after a police captain’s insistence that P.I.’s are nothing but dangerous, and who was once a dedicated private investigator himself, Michael A. Flossman has run a long road of crimefighting without the aid of a badge. Though, an extensive gallery of friends and allies have helped to re-inforced what a hero is. Now, Michael targets a corrupt and dangerous police detective while running down the black market perscription drugs and narcotic smuggling of a major pharmaceuticals company. On these streets, justice wears no mask, and could not be more dangerous.

Auditions are to be held on the afternoon of Saturday, May 30th, 2009 with a possible second date to be announced, location to be announced soon. You must schedule an audition in advance. Multiple roles have already been cast. The following are the only parts available. Acting experience is required. Seeking local talent only. Michael A. Flossman (P.I. Dangerous) – Lead, Caucasian Male, late 30s / early 40s, brown hair, strong, physically fit build, but a worn demeanor. Plain clothes crime-fighter. He is a man who firmly believes in justice, and won’t allow anything less to thrive in the streets of his city. He uses lethal means, when necessary, but only when necessary. He has a lot of heart and compassion for people, but has never been able to rectify his rocky relationship with his brother Matthew.

Detective Jerry Piercen – Caucasian Male, 35-40, dark hair, average build. A corrupt vice detective who is on the take from a pharmaceuticals company who are trafficking narcotics and selling their own products on the black market. He treats everyone with almost equal disrespect due to seeing too much inhumanity in his career. As a cop, he is aggressive and harsh in getting the job done, and he does it well.

Matthew Flossman – Caucasian Male, 30-37, dark hair, clean cut family man. Emotionally distraught and worn by the gunshot wound hospitalization of his adolescent son. Younger brother to Michael.

Kevin Stromberg – Caucasian Male, 30-35, clean cut. Middle management corporate lackey involved in the criminal activities of his employers. Has some strength of character, but is overshadowed by everyone else’s authority.

Morgan Witherspoon – African-American Male, 30-40, strong build. He is a police informant under pressure from Detective Piercen to deliver information on a violent gang. He is also working with Michael Flossman, who feeds him information.

Henchmen – Any ethnicity, 25-50, Male. Non-speaking roles. Strictly background and stunt performers. Roles require physicality and make-up effects for a shootout. Must have a professional attitude and work ethic as well as being experienced in doing light stunt or stage combat style work. Will work directly under the film’s fight / stunt choreographer, Ron Garrett.
