Auditions for play “The War To End War” by Charles Mee – Chicago, IL

Casting Call Details:
Attention Actors, Dancers, Puppeteers, And Clowns!
The Island Theatre Company will be holding auditions June 9-11 for their upcoming production of The War to End War by Charles Mee, which will be presented as part of The Chicago Fringe Festival running August 30 – September 9.

The War to End War is a three-part explosion of surrealist delight that magnifies the absurdity of modern warfare. Part I lands us amidst a re-imagined Paris Peace Conference of 1919. Part II bursts into a dadaist revue hosted by the German artist Kurt Schwitters. The final portion seats us at a high-stakes poker game between a group of nuclear physicists.

We are seeking 7-10 versatile performers, each of which will play multiple characters. We are seeking performers of every age, race, and sex to make up the cast. Several of the roles call for an aptitude in one or more of the following disciplines:

-Physical Theatre

If you have experience in any of these areas, please let us know in your submission. If you don’t have experience in any of these areas, do not fret, we are seeking any talented performers who are interested in digging into non-traditional, absurdist material written by a highly-acclaimed playwright! For a list of major characters, please see below. Due to the ensemble nature of the piece, we are open to performers of any gender, age, or race portraying the characters listed:
