Seeking actors for student project in Toronto, ON, Canada
“Lovelines” is sci-fi/romance story produced by Centennial College students.
Plot: In a world where love rules over anything else, the soul purpose of living is to find your loveline. Upon turning 21, individuals receive a love letter, which states not only the person you’re going to fall in love with, but when and where. In this world no one fears the idea of being alone and not finding love other than Aris, who on his 21st birthday received a blank letter. ‘Lovelines’ follows his journey of looking for love to fill his ‘lovenote,’ and breaking the old-age tradition of waiting for love.
The casting is open to ACTRA members and apprentices, and will count towards a credit. As well, non-ACTRA members are welcome to apply.
Auditions will be held Wednesday, October 21st between 5 – 8 pm at Centennial College’s CCC campus (951 Carlaw Avenue). Filming will begin from late November – early December. Applications only accepted if you reside within the GTA.
Character Breakdowns:
1. Aris McHale (Child), Age: 5-7
Curious about the world.
2. Aris McHale (Young Adult), Age: 21
Aris McHale is a young man eager to fall in love like the rest of the world.
He fights mostly with internal conflict because he doesn’t understand why he is the only one in the world who can’t find love.
3. Aris McHale (Older), Age: 40
At this age Aris is accepting the fact that there is no one to love and love him back. He feels hopeless until he meets Sam, the outgoing, cute and off the wall woman.
4. Anthony McHale, Age: 45
He is the father to Aris McHale and also acts as the adversary to Aris. He pushes and pushes Aris into finding the right person. He wants his son to have what he couldn’t, “traditional love”.
5. Evee McHale, Age: 45
Mother to Aris MaHale. She is supportive of every decision Aris makes, good or bad, because she understands the mistakes she has made.
6. Riley, Age: 25
Riley is the woman Aris encounters who is young, sexy and just wants to have fun no matter who she hurts.
7. Emma, Age: 30
Emma is “the friend” to Aris. Upon arriving at the McHale home, she pretends to be the love of Aris’ life so Mr. McHale wouldn’t hassle Aris about his love life.
8. Grace, Age: 60
Grace is the woman who was supposed to be with Aris’ father. She pretends that she has moved on after 35 years but she actually is still hopeful that they will be together.
9. Sam, Age: 35
Sam is the free spirited woman that Aris meets at the end of the story. She teaches Aris what she knows about love through her own experiences.
Every character is extremely significant to the story, so if you would like to audition for more than one role than please do so.
