Casting Emerson College BFA Thesis Project “Moriah”
“MORIAH” – Emerson College BFA Thesis Project, Shot on Red One
Location – Boston, MA
Logline: A sci-fidrama about a man, consumed by his mission to
provide a second chance for humanity, who has forgottenthat
humanity starts with the individuals around us.
John Patterson (late 20’s-early 30’s) dramatic lead, rough, work driven and is torn between his personal and professional life. Is the lead engineer on a brand new, extremely vital mission to space on the ship “Moriah”. Loves his wife and new baby unconditionally but is has trouble deciding whether or not he wants to be a great father or a great engineer.
Cynthea Patterson (mid to late 20’s) Wife of John Patterson, pregnant with their first child. Sweet, Sincere, but strong. Beautiful and “natural” look. She loves her husband enough to let him go chase his dream but will not hold back on telling him how she feels.
Commander Alexander Howven (Mide to Late 50’s) John’s boss. Strict, hard driving, has no sympathy for John’s position that he is in with his family and insists that he leaves his pregnant wife as she is giving birth to set aboard “Moriah”.
Natalia Portugikov (mid 20’s) Russian beauty, smart, sensitive. The Medical Specialist on the space mission “Moriah”. She is a mother and a professional and misses her child and husband enough to try to take her own life. Feels trapped in her life and desperately wants to return home to her family. Finds a friendship with John and connects with him over their families.
