CASTING CALL: Scene from Frank Danabout’s, The Shawshank Redemption(1994)
- Andy Dufresne (25-50); He is his own man, confident, yet quietly
spoken. Capable of keeping his head down for years, biding time until a
chance comes for freedom.
- Ellis “Red” Redding (25-50); Content with the solitude of prison life,
where he is king. He is afraid of the unknown.
This is a project for my Directing Workshop class at the University of
Texas, and will focus on the director/actor relationship and various
directorial techniques. The roughly five minute scene will be shot on a
Canon XL-1 during the month of February and will require the actors to
be available for three rehearsals prior to the actual shoot date. __
Audition times, rehearsal dates, and shoot date are all subject to
change at_ this point, but will all take place in February. This is a
non-paid part, but a_ copy of the performance will be distributed to the
