Shades Of Strange Films is casting for their new production
“Brilliant”. Brilliant is a story that poses the question: What if an
object, that possesses the ability to give the possessor higher thought,
has driven the progress of humanity ever since the beginning of
humanity? What if some of the most famous and infamous characters
throughout history have possessed this object? What if the current
person in possession, 72-year-old Morey Kay, is a moron? What would
happen to humanity? Morey is retiring his position and looking for an
apprentice to take his place.
Characters:
Morey Kay: White, 72, bumbling, non-intellectual, thin, and small
framed. Looking for someone who is either the age of Morey or some one
in their 50s that could be aged with makeup. Think William Hickey (look
him up).
Wanda Smith: Black, 50s – 60s, attitude, and large to medium frame.
Must have quick wit and lots of attitude. Think Hattie Winston from Becker
Lacy May: White, 60s – 80s, sweet, adorable, sexy, very incorrigible,
and small frame. Think Betty White or Estelle Getty.
Victor Cruz: Hispanic, 50s – 60s, attractive, ex-soap opera start from
Mexico. Think Giancarlo Giannini.
Ned Cross: White, 40s – 50s, janitor, doofy, un-intelligent.
Jarred Hope: Black, 17 – 24, Very intellectual, quiet, mature for his
age, school age.
Margaret Hope: Black, late 40s – 50s, Jarred’s mother, thin, small
framed, and sickly looking.
Anthony Giovanni: Italian, 30s – 50s, lean, and muscular. Pizza shop
owner.
Leon Parks: any ethnicity, 17- 24, Jarred’s friend, nerdy.
Younger actors (30s -50s) can audition for the senior roles (50s - 80s).
We can age with makeup.
