AUDITIONS: Independent Film Seeks Adult and Child Actors

Pantheon Productions, an independent film production company in Austin, TX, will be holding auditions for an HD feature film entitled “WAITING ROOMS” on March 29-30. Call backs are April 5. The film will shoot for approximately five weeks, from June 1st - July 6th.

“WAITING ROOMS” is a family drama that spans a 24-year timeline, from the birth of the youngest son to the death of the father by cancer.

We are casting five adult actors to fill the principal roles, child actors to portray these characters at a young age, and numerous extras. No particular ethnicity is preferential, and everyone will be thoughtfully considered regardless of race and body type. Families and siblings encouraged to audition, but all are welcome, regardless of experience. Cast positions will be unpaid, set will be catered, and film will be shopped on the festival circuit.

The following adult cast members are needed:

HAL - male, 30s - family patriarch. Loving but frequently misguided father, puts work ahead of family to their detriment. Actor playing Hal will be fitted with prosthetics to enhance age in later scenes.

BOBBIE - female, 30s - wife and mother. Good mother, anxious, a worrier. Actress will be fitted with prosthetics to enhance age for later scenes.

BEN - male, 20s - oldest son, accomplished and confident. Ben is a workaholic who is focused on scholastic and professional success. Actor playing Ben will portray him from age 18-33, with a small amount of artificial aging being done for later scenes.

AMANDA - female, 20s - middle child, rebellious and flighty. Amanda is witty and smart, but makes poor decisions and often finds herself on the outs with her family. The actress playing Amanda will portray her from ages 18-27.

HUNTER - male, late teens, early 20’s - Hunter, the youngest son, is compassionate and intelligent with a quick wit. The actor playing Hunter should be able to play ages 14-23.

Child actors needed:

BEN - ages 8 and 11. Two scenes, dialogue-heavy. Will consider casting one or two actors for this role.

AMANDA - ages 4 and 7. Two scenes, fairly dialogue-heavy. Will cast two young actresses for these roles, but will consider one talented and precocious young lady for both ages.

HUNTER - age 3. No lines required, scene takes place in his bedroom on Christmas eve.
HUNTER - age 8-10. Two scenes, one dialogue-heavy, one not. Would prefer one actor for both scenes.

Actors should prepare a monologue for auditions and will be given cold readings for call backs. Headshots strongly preferred at time of audition, but will accept recent photographs as well. Please e-mail PantheonAuditions@gmail.com to schedule an audition time, and with any questions you may have.
