Casting Call Details:
This is a recreation of a scene from the 2011 film “The Descendants” starring George Clooney. Although this is a recreation, it is not intended to be a shot-for-shot remake, nor supposed to be performed the exact way that it is in the film.
This scene is a pivotal, emotional scene between a father and daughter.
Matt King, a land baron with two daughters, has to deal with the recent news of his wife’s fatal coma. In this scene, his daughter, Alexandra King, breaks the news that her mother was cheating on him.
MATT KING (need to look 35-55 years). He is a father, but not an authority figure. He is not “father of the year”, nor is he “husband of the year”. He’s recently been caught up in issues regarding the large amount of land he owns. These issues, along with the recent news of his wife’s fatal coma, are exhausting him. He now knows he has to raise his two daughters on his own; a task he isn’t quite cut out for considering his wife was the one to do so.
ALEXANDRA KING (need to look 18-20 years). She is a young adult with attitude. Troublesome, misbehaving. She’s not afraid to back talk her father who she’s never seen as a threat. Behind her sass is a heart of gold that genuinely cares of her mother’s inevitable death. She’s stuck between a rock and hard place having to tell her father that his wife was cheating on him.
This is NON-PAID.
There will be ONE rehearsal (approx. 1 hour) and ONE shoot (approx. 4 hours).
Snacks and Beverages are provided, along with a copy of the scene to add to your reel.
