plot summary
Garbeau’s celebrates Halloween-tide with two concurrent productions.

Little Shop - A down-and out skid row floral assistant becomes an
overnight sensation when he discovers an exotic plant with a mysterious
craving for fresh blood.

Soon Audrey II grows into an ill-tempered, foul-mouthed, R&B-singing
carnivore who offers him fame and fortune in exchange for feeding its
growing appetite, finally revealing itself to be an alien creature poised
for global domination!
Rocky - It’s the biggest and baddest rock’n'roll musical ever! On the way
to visit an old college professor, two clean-cut kids run into tire
trouble and seek help at the sight of a light down the road. It’s coming
from the Frank N. Furter place where the doctor is in the midst of one of
his maniacal experiments. What follows is a night of fun, frolics and
frivolity with that sweet transvestite and his motley crew of misfits.

This deliberately kitschy rock ‘n’ roll sci-fi gothic is definitely as fun
as ever!

types needed
Little Shop:

SEYMOUR - Mid-twenties. Our insecure, naive, put-upon, florist’s clerk
hero. Above all, he’s a sweet and well-meaning little man.

Low A to High G

AUDREY - The secret love of his life. If you took Judy Holiday, Carol
Channing, Mailyn Monroe and Goldie Hawn, removed their education and
feelings of self-worth, dressed them in spiked heels and a low-cut black
dress, and then shook them all up in a test tube to extract what’s
sweetest and most vunerable-that’d be Audrey.

Low A to High D

MR. MUSHNIK Their boss. A failure of an East Side florist.

He seldom
smiles but often sweats.

Low G to High E flat

ORIN - A handsome dentist with a black leather jacket and sadistic
tendencies.

VOICE OF THE PLANT - Provided by an actor on an offstage microphone. The
sound is a cross between Otis Redding, Barry White, and Wolfman Jack.
Think of The Voice as that of a street-smart, funky, conniving villain —
Rhythm and Blues’ answer to Richard the Third.

CRYSTAL, RONNETTE AND CHIFFON Three female street urchins who function as
participants in the action and a Greek Chorus outside it. They’re young,
hip, smart and the only people in the whole cast who REALLY know what’s
going on. In their “Greek Chorus” capacity, they occassionally sing to the
audience directly. And when they do, it’s often with a “secret-smile” that
says: “we know something you don’t know.

Rocky:
Frank-N-Furter and Riff Raff are pre-cast. All cast members should be able
to sing.

Narrator - The one who takes us on this crazy journey.

Janet Weiss - 1/2 of a newlywed couple of clean-cut all Americans who get
lost in the castle of a sweet transvestite.

Brad Majors - The other half.

Magenta - Riff Raff’s creepy and incestuous sister.

Columbia - The woman who simply wants to love everyone.

Dr. Von Scott/Eddie - Dual cast as a discarded rock-singing former
interest of Frankie…and as his own uncle, a rival scientist of
Frankie’s.

Rocky Horror - The baby-faced epitome of man-muscle created by Frankie.
Has a rock song.

Phantoms - Combination of freaky Chorus, Stagehands, and Time-Warp’ers.
