Seeking actors for “Man of the House”, student project
Shooting will begin in November in Philadelphia, PA.
The short will be shot on HD Video and be about 15-20 minutes long.
All food and transportation fees will be provided. Any expenses will
be covered/reimbursed. A copy of the final film will be promptly
delivered upon completion as your pay. The film will be entered in
several festivals when completed.
Synopsis: Man of the House is a story about a young teenager who has
to deal with a new system of rules and limitations when his previously
absent father comes back into the picture.
CHARACTERS BREAKDOWN:
JUAN (LEAD)
Must look 14 – 16 years old. Adult actors who look young preferred.
Must be fully bilingual (English/Spanish) . Juan is a very smart yet
undisciplined teen. He is an average student but can do better if he
tried. He’s been living under lax supervision until now and needs to
adjust somehow.
ADAM (LEAD)
Must look 60 – 70 years old. Must be able to speak very
proper Spanish. Adam is Juan’s father. He is a psychologist and a
scholar. Adam comes back to take control of the family after years on
the road. He stresses discipline and academics.
MARIA (SUPPORTING)
Must look 35 – 45. Spanish speaking role. Maria is Juan’s mother. She is a working class single mother until Adam comes back into the picture. She is subservient to Adam and defers to Adam’s style of parenting.
LUIS (SUPPORTING)
14 – 16 years old. Juan’s friend. Kind of a joker.
ED (SUPPORTING)
14 – 16 years old. Juan’s classmate. Underachiever.
Teenage extras needed for classroom scene.
