SONOMA MEDIA ARTS (Sonoma Media Arts.Com) is casting two
male roles for an upcoming 8 minute short film to be shot in
April, 2009 in Sebastopol, CA. The film “The Daffodils Are
Blooming” is a dark little romance about a farm town call
girl who uses her sexuality as a coping mechanism, sure that
she will never find love… or even be worthy of it.
We are casting:
LEADING ROLE – “THE MAN” – appears to be age 36-44, fit and
healthy, charming and charismatic but with a brooding
loneliness. He is fully aware of own sexuality and uses it
to mask his loneliness. If he were cleaned up from the dusty
ranch life, he might pass for a George Clooney type.
SUPPORTING ROLE – “THE MAILMAN” – A wry, Tom Waits type.
Age 40-60. Super wise, but substantially understated. A
twinkle in his eye always shows that he is holding a better
hand than the people he encounters. He’s an observer and can
size up anyone before a word has been spoken. He is not the
most social and has a quirky little way of conversation.
