Casting male and female actors for short film “Symphony of the Night” – Philadelphia, PA

Project: Symphony of the Night
Casting Calls Category: Short Film/Independent
Location: Philadelphia, PA

Symphony of the Night is an independent short fantasy film set in the regency period in Europe.
It will be shot in Bucks County, 20 minutes outside of Philadelphia.
It’s reminiscent of a noir focusing on several characters befitting the late 1700’s.
It focuses on Belmont, a young vampire hunter who rescues a “defenseless” woman from the grasp of a vampiress.

CASTING:

BELMONT
Caucasian, mid 20’s to early 30’s, very athletic
Belmont is an extremely self-assured adventurer in his mid 20’s to early 30’s.
He has little to fear and can be guaranteed to take down any foe.
He is quiet and rugged. Belmont hides his feelings underneath his armor and removes himself from the rest of humanity, preferring to be reclusive. Somewhere in him is a twinge of humanity that he keeps well protected. His family has hunted vampires for centuries.

VAMPIRESS
Exotic-looking, mid to late 20’s, very athletic
The de facto queen of the vampires, this particular female vampire is as powerful as she is jaded. She is a very old and beautiful vampire but appears to be only in her late 20s.
She grows weary of dealing with humans and has resorted to toying with them strictly for entertainment as well as sustenance. Confident and alluring, she easily dispatches even the most hardened adventurer.

OPHELIA
Caucasian, 18 to late 20’s
Ophelia is a seemingly innocent girl in her early 20’s. She is the daughter of a wealthy aristocrat and spends most of her time in and around her father’s mansion.
She is eager to experience what the world has to offer. This has made Ophelia very prone to get into trouble.
She is flirtatious and naive at times.
Her status has given her a mischievous side, which she tries to hide behind a not-so-subtle faux shyness. She is a wolf in sheep’s clothing.

JAMES
Caucasian, early 30’s to mid 40’s
James is a hired farm hand and a jack-of-all-trades. He is a larger man in his late 30-s-mid 40’s.
He is of lower social status and his demeanor reflects that.
He wants to do a good job and remain in good standing with his employer, Ophelia’s father. He is eager to please and often times, seems simple.

NARRATOR
Deep gravelly voice and/or eastern European or British accent.
This is a voiceover role.
The Narrator will read the prologue, which sets up our story.

All roles are non-paying but meals, credit, and a finished copy will be provided.
Shooting will take place over two nights in February or March.
Please send resumes and headshots.
It will be distributed on the Internet. Our previous films have received millions of views and have been featured on The Huffington Post, The Wall Street Journal, G4TV, YouTube’s Featured Video, and many more.
