Casting for short film “The Waiting Room”

Casting for short film “The Waiting Room” – Directed by Jennifer Smith. This is NOT a student film. Jennifer Smith is an award-winning filmmaker, and a professor of Television and Film Production at the University of Georgia.

This project will be shot in ATHENS, GA.

This is a non-paying job. Actors participating will be provided lunch/dinner. 4 shoot days are possible divided over two weeks. All participants will be provided a DVD and MPEG file of their work. This project will be submitted to film festivals around the country.

The Waiting Room: The story revolves around a woman as she meets her mother-in-law for the first time. The circumstances are strained and tense; not only did the mother-in-law not know that her daughter was married, but she had no idea that her daughter was gay and married to a woman. The film happens while the daughter is in emergency surgery.

Casting for the following roles.

Caucasian Female; Age: 25-35; Lesbian woman who is meeting her conservative mother-in-law for the first time.

African American Female; Age: 30-50; Doctor in charge of the daughter’s surgery.

Female; Age: 50-70; A mother in the waiting room with her husband.

Male; Age: 50-70; A father in the waiting room with his wife.

2 Hispanic Women; Age: 20-50; SPANISH SPEAKERS; A mother/daughter in the waiting room.
