Casting Call for Short Film “The Bastard Child” – Atlanta, GA
Casting Call Details:
3rd Fathom Entertainment is seeking Local Actors for short film production starting September 1, 2012. Principle Actors will be needed for 2 days of filming. This is a non-paying role but meals/credit/copy will be provided. Submitting to Sundance and other film festivals in the coming months.

Synopsis: Drama
“The Bastard Child” is a coming of age social dilemma about internal confliction and social acceptance. The story centers on a Mother and her son as they share parallel conflictions within themselves all while discovering self-worth and personal forgiveness. Set in a rural town this story unfolds as a mother lives a life of pain and suffering all in the name of survival. While she believes she is doing everything to protect her family, her son lacks respect as he sees her as week and passive. Both of them attempt to save the other from their demons, not realizing that they really only need to save themselves.

Debra Thoreau
Lead. Female. 35-45. African-American. A strong woman with a sassy mouth. She is strong in her will as well as her conviction.
Nicholas Pierce
Lead. Male. 18-20 (Looks 16). African-American. Very intelligent young man who is quick witted. Unyielding in spirit and unapologetic in persona. He is Gay.
Clifford Thoreau
Supporting. Male. 35-40. African-American. Old fashioned man. Very masculine and very dominating. Cocky and arrogant.
Jeffrey Pierce
Supporting. Male. 35-40. African-American. Playful and laid back. Masculine.
Candace
