Project: “The Trap” to film in Decatur, GA, Paid
David Rosinger’s short narrative The Trap is slated to film in Decatur, June 10-13. The story follows two young con artists as they attempt to scam an elderly couple. Writer-director Rosinger describes the plot as “part Poe, part Brothers Grimm.” Four actors will be cast in the film.
Open call auditions will be held Tuesday, April 2, 7-9 pm at the Dorsey Theatre, 3593 Clairmont Road, Atlanta, Georgia 30319.
Auditions will be a cold reading and no appointment is needed.
“All four parts are principal roles,” Rosinger said. “I’m looking for talent with experience in either theater or film.”
He has provided the following character breakdown:
Agnes Scott alumna, garden club secretary, former DAR vice-regent, Empty Stocking Fund volunteer, collector of porcelain figurines and other tchotchkes, amateur cake decorator and candle maker. “Well, bless your heart!”
Voted senior high class clown, U.S. Navy vet, Southeastern RV sales champion, amateur magician, amateur stand-up comic, community theater ham-in-residence, go-getter, firm handshake. “Put ‘er there, partner.”
Petite, shy, attractive smile, C+ student, perfect attendance, usher at school plays, celebrity gossip expert, drops out of college freshman year to run away with Jerry. “That’s so sweet!”
Homemade tattoo at 12, juvenile work farm at 14 for book bag with $1,000 in “merchandise,” prison at 18 for stealing truck loaded with furs, clip joint bouncer, white van speaker salesman, phone fraud operator. “Don’t worry, the insurance company will cover it.”
Payment for this project is $300 per actor per day for four days of filming.
